A two day workshop cum training on Medicinal Plants

The programme was formally inaugurated in the presence of the Chief Guest, Chief Secretary, UT Ladakh, Shri Ashish Kundra, IAS. along with distinguished dignitaries including Guest of Honour Mr. Jigmat Takpa I.F.S, Director, DIHAR Leh ,Dr. Om Prakash Chaurasia and Director, National Institute of Sowa Rigpa NISR, Leh Dr. Padma Gurmet. The event aims to promote awareness and knowledge sharing on the cultivation and sustainable use of medicinal plants, along with preserving traditional healing practices of Sowa Rigpa. Experts, researchers, and participants from University of Ladakh, CIBS university, EJM College and NISR Leh students are attending the workshop to exchange ideas and enhance their understanding of traditional medicine systems and botanical systems. During the inaugural session, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of medicinal plants in healthcare, conservation of traditional knowledge, and the need for scientific approaches to cultivation and research.
